About the WinPatrol Worldwide Project

WinPatrol is a popular
program given away free, no strings attached to users around the world via this website.
The main function of WinPatrol is to help users detect worms which have been embedded in their
Windows computer system. I've added a handful of other useful features but I think
worm detection is the main benefit.
BillP Studios doesn't spend any resources promoting WinPatrol but word of mouth has been a
very powerful marketing tool. To my surprise, even though WinPatrol has never been
localized for other languages it's actually most popular outside the US.
I've created this WinPatrol Worldwide Project as a courtesy to our users who deserve
to have programs displayed in their native language.
How you can partipate
- I'm making available an English
version of our string resources. This file contains all the text used in
the WinPatrol program. By changing the text of this file, and running it
with Regedit you will change the text used by WinPatrol on your
machine.
- We welcome
users to create their own localized version for themselves, friends or
if you'd like we'll make your localized file available here
at WinPatrol.com. Use whatever language you know. Create a Klingon version of WinPatrol,
that's ok with me.

- On each line, the text message following
the = will need to be converted into the proper translation text. this
file should be all you need to know how much work is required.<

After making the changes, rename the file so it has a .reg extension and then using Windows Explorer,
click on your new file and it will populate the Windows registry with your new text. Your WinPatrol will
begin using the new text immediately.
If you'd like to share your translation file with others you can Email it to WinPatrol@BillP.com.
We'll be creating a special web page with various translation files and may include your work. You'll get
credit and we'll include a link to your own home page if you'd like.
