Adobe Update Manager – ADOBEUPDATEMANAGER.EXE

AdobeUpdateManager.exe is exactly what the name implies; the Adobe Update Manager. It installs with Adobe software such as the Acrobat Reader, PhotoShop, PhotoShop Elements, etc. When you start your Adobe product, this file connects to the Adobe website to look for product upgrades, patches, bug fixes, etc. If found, it will ask if you want to download and install. If you say no, the update manager will close. If you agree, it will download the file and install it for you.

This program seems pretty handy. But if it's causing you problems, it can be removed from your Startup Programs using WinPatrol. If you do opt to remove it, be sure to check for updates to any of your Adobe products at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/main.html.
