Multiple Programs – ASFAGENT.EXE

The ASFAGENT.EXE installs with Intel Ethernet cards and networking products. It provides a standard interface through which problems are reported and resolved when the client operating system is not active. If a sensor on the client system detects an out-of-threshold condition (temperature, voltage, fan, chassis-intrusion, and so forth) when the client comput-er is in a low-power state or the operating system is absent, ASF alerts can be transmitted to a remote man-agement console. If you're running a network, you'll want to leave this file in place.

We also found an ASF Agent that is totally unrelated. In this instance, ASF stands for Advanced Streaming Format, a streaming multimedia file format originally developed by Microsoft.
