HP Background Task – BACKUPNOTIFY.EXE

Backupnotify.exe is described as HP's "Common Language Runtime Debugging Service". If you've done a default installation of the drivers and digital imaging software that came with your HP Camera, this file will run on system startup. Little is known of this file. But we believe its job is to make sure other HP drivers and software needed to detect when your camera is connected to your PC have been successfully installed or launched.

If you want to try removing this file, please do so using WinPatrol. You'll probably find it in your Startup Programs. We'd recommend clicking "Disable" rather than "Remove" That way if you experience a loss of functionality, you can go back into Startup Programs and re-enable it.

You'll find the latest drivers for your HP hardware at http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html.
