Intel Video Hotkey Controls - HKCMD.EXE
Hkcmd.exe is Intel’s Hotkey Command Module. It installs with VGA Graphics cards based upon Intel's 810 or 815 chipsets. With this file running, you can use hotkey commands such as 'Ctrl-Alt-F12' to access Intel Graphics properties. If you don't tweak your graphics settings much, it probably doesn't make sense to keep this file around. It can be safely removed from your Startup Programs using WinPatrol.
If you're experiencing system lockups or slowness when running Microsoft Internet Explorer, you should disable both hkcmd.exe and igfxtray.exe. Igfxtray places an icon in your system tray that you can use to set video controls. It to is unnecessary. You can access video properties via the control panel or by right clicking over empty space on your desktop then selecting "Properties".
