Multiple Programs – HM.EXE

G Hm.exe installs with HostsMan. HostsMan is an application to manage your Windows HOSTS file. It is mainly intended to block specific domains (mostly advertising servers) by redirecting them to localhost, but can also be used to add any other domain/IP combination that you want to be included in the HOSTS file. More information can be found at http://www.abelhadigital.com/.

Some virus programs will report this file as a virus. Most of the virus providers (including AVG) report that this is a false positive. If you like what this file is doing for you, leave it in place. WinPatrol already warns of chnages to your HOSTS file so if you're happy with that, this utility may not be necessary.

Less commonly, hm.exe installs with the Harmonic Metronome. More info can be found at http://www.wholarts.com/music/hm/down.htm.

Hm.exe also installs with Histogram Manager. More info can be found at http://daq.triumf.ca/susiq/susiq-HM.exe.html.

Files called he.exe and gm.exe install with Garage and Haulage manager, a dispatch system for trucks. Because hm.exe is a short and common name, there may be other programs that install it.
