HP Component Manager – HPCMPMGR.EXE

HpCmpMgr.exe is the HP Component Manager. It installs with many HP printers, scanners and "all in ones". This file is notorious for causing XP based systems to hang on exit. HP also recommends turning the printer off first and then shutting down your system.

While HP recommends against removing any of their files, users report having done so successfully using WinPatrol.
