Microsoft Global Input Editor – IME.EXE

IMEKRMIG.EXE installs with Microsoft's Global Input Editor or IME). An IME is a program that allows computer users to enter complex characters and symbols, such as Japanese characters, using a standard keyboard. Microsoft is now offering two Global IMEs—Global IME 5.02 and Global IME for Office XP. This file may also install with 3rd party programs such as scanner or OCR software for use with special characters.

This file will be listed in your startup or tasklist if you're using the Japanese version of Windows or Microsoft Office with Asian character support. If you work with these special characters, leave this file in place.
