Symantec LiveUpdate – LUCOMSERVER_3_3.EXE

LuComServer_3_3.exe installs with most Symantec products including Norton Antivirus, Norton Internet Security, Norton Personal Firewall, and Norton Systemworks. It is part of the "LiveUpdate" feature that checks for updated data files such as virus definition or software patches. LiveUpdate can download and install the updates automatically or it can prompt you to do so depending upon how you have your Symantec product configured.

Antivirus programs can only protect you from viruses they know about so updating virus data is critical. This program should run after you've installed your Symantec product. Once you have done the product registration and activation, it launches LiveUpdate.

You can use the luall.exe file to determine whether you have the latest version of LiveUpdate.
