Multiple Programs – MAGICKEY.EXE

MagicKey is known as a 'password cracker'. It will decrypt a password encoded file. We'd recommend removing this program because it is a security risk to have it running on your PC. To get rid of it, open WinPatrol and look for "Magickey.exe" in Active Tasks and kill the task. Next, look for it in Startup Programs. If found, remove it. You may also want to go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs and remove "Magic Key" there. Finally, delete Magickey.exe and Magickey.txt in your c:\Program Files\MagicKey folder.

Magickey.exe installs with Micro Innovations, Labtec and Belkin wireless keyboards. It allows you to define programmable hotkeys to launch programs, to access browser functions, or to control multimedia elements such as a CD Audio or MP3 player. If you don't use these programmable keys, you can get by without this program. Less commonly, magickey.exe installs with Media Key; a digital rights management program. More information can be found at http://www.mediakey.com/. Removing this program could make some encrypted or copy protected software or data inaccessible.
