Messenger Service - MSGSVC.DLL
Msgsvc.dll is a service provided by Microsoft as part of your Windows operating system. it transmits net send and Alerter service (alrsvc.exe) messages between clients and servers. If this service is stopped, Alerter messages will not be transmitted. If this service is disabled, any services that explicitly depend on it will fail to start. By default, this service is set to 'Automatic'. Unless it's causing your problems, leave it in place.

Don't let the name fool you. This service is not related to Windows Messenger or MSN Messenger.
