MSN Messenger Service - msmsgs.exe

Msmsgs.exe is the executable for MSN Messenger, Microsoft's instant messaging, Internet chat, file sharing and audio/video conferencing.

Windows XP doesn't allow you to remove it's MSN Messenger program very easily. There is an option within the program that lets you opt not to run it on system startup. If this doesn't work, your best bet would be to disable the program under your Startup Programs using WinPatrol.

Running Outlook Express will also put this back in your startup programs. To disable this "feature", you'll want to go into the Outlook Express Tools /Options and uncheck the option "Automatically log on to Windows Messenger".
