Osd.exe is short for On Screen Display. It comes installed on Acer systems and is part of the Acer Launch Manager. This program gives you easy access to customize your monitor settings. These settings are also available via Control Panel. So if you don't do a lot of tweaking, you can get by without this file. You'll find the latest version of Acer Launch Manager and On Screen Display at http://global.acer.com/support/index.htm.
Osd.exe is a similar type of display driver originally created by Waytech.com for Compaq computers running Windows 95/98, NT4.0, Windows 2000, and XP versions.
On some systems, a "Coloreal" color management driver was included. Click here for more info and driver downloads.
