Windows Vista User Profiles – PROFSVC.EXE

Profsvc.exe installs as part of your Windows Vista operating system. This service stores your user profile and provides Win32_UserProfile WMI functionality (replacing moveuser.exe in earlier versions of Windows). We'd recommend leaving this file in place.

Some bugs having to do with this file are reported to be fixed by the Windows Vista SP1 release.
