Multiple Programs – QQ.EXE
Most commonly, a file called qq.exe installs with the Tenecent Mobile QQ service. This is an instant messaging and chat program similar to ICQ. It installs with China Unicom networks and is very popular throughout China. For that reason, most of the info you'll find online regarding this program is in Chinese. You can get more info in English at http://www.tencent.com/english/.
The program is also developing a following in South Africa. More info can be found at http://www.qq.co.za/download.asp.
This file does not necessarily need to be run on system startup or left running all the time. It can be launched manually when you want to use the messaging service.
A file called qq.exe also installs with a Keylogger called QQSpy or psw.vb. This program sits in memory recording all of the keystrokes you type in the hope of capturing things such as passwords or credit card information. We'd recommend removing this file using WinPatrol. If there are files with high ascii characters and QQ in the name, remove those as well.
Safe if not Keylogger
