Multiple Programs – QUICKSTART.EXE

We found multiple instances of a file called QUICKSTART.EXE.

Most commonly, QUICKSTART.EXE is a name used for the quick start tutorial that comes with many Microsoft products including: Recent versions of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Applications, Microsoft Money Microsoft Mobile Internet Toolkit, Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft .NET framework and .NET Products. If you don't need the tutorial, then this file can be removed.

A file called Quickstart.exe also places an icon in your system tray that you can use to lauch Star Office 6.x or later by Sun Microsystems or Open Office, an "open source" alternative to Microsoft Office. More information can be found at http://ooqstart.sourceforge.net/.

Because this is a common name, there may be other programs that install this file. We'd recommend trying to determine which program installed the file before removing it.
