Remote Registry Service- REGSVC.EXE and REGSVC.DLL

Regsvc.exe and regsvc.dll make up Microsoft’s Remote Registry Service runs on Windows 2000 Server and Advanced Server. This file is necessary to write keys to your registry remotely. If you remove it, remote registry modification will no longer be possible. While that may sound like a good thing, removing it can make any other program that depends upon it crash. We'd recommend leaving this file in place. But we'd also remmend running a good firewall and up to date antivirus program. Many viruses and worms can exploit this service so that a hacker or malicous file can mess with your registry settings.
