McAfee Antivirus Script Scanning – SCRIPTSN.EXE

Scriptscan.exe and scriptproxy.exe are browser helper objects that are used by McAfee ScriptScan. This is the script scanning component that installs with McAfee's VirusSScan products. With this feature turned on, potentially harmful scripts that you encounter (generally when browsing the web) are scanned. You'll find the latest antivirus definition files available for download at http://www.mcafee.com/us/downloads/index.html.

We'd recommend leaving these files in place. But if you do want to disable script scanning, this can be done using the McAfee Configuration Console.
