ScanSoft with Brother Printers – SMARTUI.EXE or SE.DLL

SmartUI.exe is the 'Smart User Interface' available for Brother Multifunction Printers/scanners/copiers. You'll probably find this file in your c:\Program Files\Scansoft\PaperPort\SmartUI\ folder. If this file is available, PaperPort will support your SmartUI scanning functions. When you hit the Scan button on your Brother, SmartUI will load SmarUI Popup which, in turn, launches your PaperPort software. So if you have a Brother printer and you find this feature useful, you may want to leave this file in place.
