ADSL Modem Taskbar – STMCTRL.DLL

Stmctrl.dll is the browser helper object that launches the ADSL Taskbar and initializes your ADSL modem. Most of the references we saw to this file were in Italian, French, and Spanish. This is software may be provided by your ISP or may install with the drivers for your modem.

In general, we'd recommend against removing this file. Users who have attempted to remove this file have reported a "missing file" error on startup. If you opt to try disabling it, please do so using WinPatrol. That way if you can't connect to the Internet, you can easily re-enable it.

This file may also appear as rundll32.exe stmctrl.dll or rundll32.exe stmctrl.dll,taskbar.
