Multiple Programs – STTRAY.EXE

Sttray.exe is the system tray icon that installs with Intel's WebOutfitter. WebOutfitter offers websites, tools, and tutorials to help you understand the Pentium processor. It first appeared with the release of the Pentium III chip. More information can be found at http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/cn032699.htm. If you no longer need quick access to this information, you can remove this file from your Startup Programs using WinPatrol.

Sttray.exe is also the system tray icon that installs with the SigmaTel AC97 Audio drivers and the C-Major or D-Major Audio drivers. Files called stacmon.exe and shellexwin.exe -M may also appear on your system. The system tray icon is not required. If you don't use it, you can safely remove it. You can still access your sound configuration via the Control Panel. You'll find more info on the Audio codecs at http://www.sigmatel.com/products/tech-support.htm. You'll probably want to go through your system or sound card retailer for the latest drivers.
