Fakeware Alert – SYSPROTECT_SRV.EXE

Sysprotect_srv.exe installs with the SysProtect adware program also classified as a variant of the Zlob Trojan. Sysprotect promises to repair registry problems and disk errors, to fix corrupted files, and to optimize your system startup. The program hijacks your browser's home and search pages to pages promoting programs called PestTrap, SpyHeal and the notorious WinFixer. It can also display popup ads. More information can be found at http://www.pestpatrol.com/spywarecenter/pest.aspx?id=453098326.

Additional files that may appear on your system include activate.exe, insthelp.exe, updater.exe, usyp.exe, sysprotectscannersetup.exe, sysprotectscannerinstall.exe, flfxr15.dll, frec.dll, fwraper.dll, fxcore.dll, mmfx.dll, and pcheck.dll.

We'd recommend removing these files using WinPatrol. First, kill them under Active Tasks then remove them from your Startup Programs and/or IE Helpers. If running WinPatrol 8.x or later; right click each file then select "Delete file on Reboot". Finally, reboot your system.
