Malicious BOT Monitoring – TMRUBOTTED.EXE
Tmrubotted.exe and tmrubottedtray.exe install with Trend Micro Rubotted. The name is intended to mean "Are you BOT-ed". It scans your system for malicious BOTs (robots). It monitors for remote command and control (C&C;) commands sent from a bot-herder to control your computer. Additionally, RUBotted watches for an array of potentially malicious bot-related activities, including mass mailing - a common activity performed by a bot-infected computer. It coexists with your antivirus software and is not meant to be used instead of an antivirus program. You'll find more information at http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/rubotted. If you find the system tray icon useful, leave tmrubottedtray.exe in place. If you want this program to monitor for you, you'll need to leave the executable file (tmrubotted.exe) in place. Tmrubottedtray.exe is the system tray icon. Handy but not absolutely required.
