IBM ThinkPad HD Protection – TPSHOCKS.EXE

Tpshocks.exe comes installed on most newer IBM ThinkPad notebook computers as part of the IBM ThinkPad Hard Drive Protection program. This program detects rapid acceleration and parks the hard drive's read/write heads so they don't go bouncing around on your hard drive destroying data. If you drop your notebook, this utility could be very handy. So we'd recommend leaving it in place.
