Virus Alert – TXPLATFORM.EXE

Txplatform.exe installs with an instant messaging program called TM2008 by TenCent. This tool seems to be similar or identical to their QQ instant messaging program. Tencent is a company in China known to produce applications that contain adware or spyware. Versions of this file have been found that contain viruses or Trojans including Backdoor.Win32.Hupigon, Infostealer-onlinegame, W32/fujacks-ay, -ax, or -az. You'll find more information at http://www.threatexpert.com/files/txplatform.exe.html. Unless you're very attached to this program, we'd recommend uninstalling it. Reboot then check to see if this file is still listed in your active tasks, startup programs or hidden files. If so, remove it using WinPatrol.
