UNCFAT Directory Monitor – UNCFATDMS.EXE

Uncfatdms.exe is the UNCFAT Directory Monitoring Service. This may have installed as an Add-in from Microsoft that enables Windows Desktop Search (and the built-in Vista Search) locate files on Microsoft Networks. This Protocol Handler indexes your shared network directories and FAT drive(s) allowing you to easily find your specific content. If you have this file installed and still can't search networked drives, check your Windows Desktop Search Advanced Options to make sure this capability is turned on.
