VMWare – VMWARETRAY.EXE

VMwaretray.exe is the Vmware tools system tray icon. VMware develops software that creates and manages virtual machines. These make it possible to spread computer functions across multiple systems that act as one. Their main programs include vManage, vPlatform and vTools. Other files that may appear on your system include the Vmnet DHCP service (vmnetdhcp.exe), Vmnat Service (vmnat.exe), Vmware authorization service (vmware-authd.exe), Vmware tools service (VMwareService.exe), Vmware GSX server (vmserverdwin32.exe) and Vmware user background process (vmwareuser.exe).

While system tray applications are generally safe to remove, we'd recommend leaving these file in place. If you remove them, some parts of your virtual network or file system may disappear.
