Bitcomet Toolbar – BITCOMET_TOOLBAR.DLL

Bitcomet toolbar.dll installs with the Bitcoment P2P file sharing service based on the BitTorrent protocol. BitTorrent was designed for transferring files. It is peer-to-peer in nature, as users connect to each other directly to send and receive portions of the file. However, there is a central server (called a tracker) which coordinates the action of all such peers.

Files called bitcomet.exe and btdownloadgui.exe may also appear on your system. More info and a handy FAQ can be found at http://www.bitcomet.com/doc/faq.htm. (At the time of this writing, we had problems loading this website.)

As with all file sharing services, we'd urge caution. If you can live without this tool, it can be safely removed by WinPatrol or Start > Control Panel >Add/Remove programs.
