McAfee C-DILLA Copy Protection – CDAC11BA.EXE

C-Dilla is part of the Macrovision RTS Service. Macrovision provides "SafeCast" copy protection technology to a number of companies. SafeCast defeats CD-RW drives and ensures that you run the program on one machine only. Some contend that the program is spyware.

The most notorious user of this service was Intuit in Turbotax 2002. it installs to the C drive, C:\C_DILLA, with a hidden sub directory named 'SafeCast product licenses'. It also installs a service 'C-DillaCdaC11BA', which runs 'CDAC11BA.EXE'. It may also install with games or CAD programs such as 3DX Max. Some programs may install C_DILLA to your Windows\System folder.

If the C-Dilla/Safecast software is on your computer, you should be able to go to Add/Remove Programs and select "Safecast Shared Components" and remove it.
