AproposMedia Adware – CXTPLS.DLL

Cxtpls.dll is the browser helper object that installs with the "People on Page" adware program by AproposMedia. This program may have downloaded and installed with the Grokster P2P file sharing service or it could have installed via ActiveX control on a web page. This program generates popup ads. If installed with the PeopleOnPage toolbar, it may also record URLs that you visit.

We'd recommend removing this file using WinPatrol. Go to your Active Tasks tab and kill the file there. You'll also want to remove any of these files that appear there: Apropos.exe, ai_loader.exe, apropos_client_loader.exe, auto_update_loader.exe, sys_ai_client_loader.exe, sysai.exe, and any files starting with pop or popsrv (for example: pop205.exe, popsrv205.exe). Next, remove any of the exe files that appear on your system from your Startup Programs and any dll files from your IE Helpers.
