Adware Alert – FREEPROD.DLL

Freeprod Toolbar and freeprod.dll and maxfiles.dll will appear in your c:\Program Files\Freeprod Toolbar\ folder. These files install with Adware.MaxSearch. They may have been intentionally installed promising a free product shopping reward program or they may have stealth installed with another program. This adware program will hijack your web searches to its controlling server, currently at maxfind.com.

We'd recommend removing these files using WinPatrol. First, kill them under Active Tasks then remove them from your IE Helpers. If running WinPatrol 8.x or later, right click each file then select "Delete file on reboot". Finally, reboot your system.
