HP System Driver - HPSYSDRV.EXE

HPSysDrv.exe comes installed on many HP or Compaq desktop systems. This file keeps track of the number of times your system has been started for system recovery or restore functions. Data from this program may be helpful in troubleshooting problems with HP tech support.

This file also helps to identify that your system is an HP (or Compaq). It tells the keyboard manager to load HP specific keyboard functions such as Multimedia shortcut keys.

If you have an HP system, removing this file could cause these functions to stop working. If you don't have an HP system, this file is useless to you and should be removed.

Removal instructions can be found at http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/document.jhtml?lc=en&docName;=bph07149. But it may be easier to use WinPatrol to disable this file if you don't want it loading.
