Possible Spyware – MSCMTSRVC.EXE

Details about the file MsCMTSrvc.exe are very sketchy. It tries to contact the node "rdrstore.compaq.com" at this IP address 161.114.19.93. The following information is found at that site:

So if you're setting up a simple Web site on your corporate intranet, creating large sites for the Internet, or developing component-based applications, the Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack provides a simple, flexible way to make your existing Windows NT Server 4.0 an even stronger Web and applications platform."

Often a firewall will report that ""msCMTSrvc.exe is attempting to access the internet" and ask you what to do. Users who deny access report no problems. Because this site appears to be abandoned and because Compaq appearss to know nothing about it, we'd recommend using WinPatrol to disable this service then test for functionality. If your system and software run properly, remove it.
