Norton Antivirus – OPSCAN.EXE

Opscan.exe installs with Norton Antivirus 2004 and Norton Internet Security 2004. It is referred to as the "Out of process scan server". This service is needed to integrate Norton Antivirus scans with 3rd party programs such as Microsoft Office applications. We'd recommend leaving this file in place.

Antivirus programs can only protect you from viruses they know about. So be sure to either run LiveUpdate or download the latest virus definition file at http://www.symantec.com/downloads/.
