Multiple Programs – PS.EXE

We found many files using the name ps.exe.

PS.exe installs with the Punto Switcher, a keyboard input language switching utility available (in Russian) at http://punto.ru/switcher/.

Ps.exe installs with Show Active Process by Pragma Systems, Inc. This utility prints the name and ID of all active processes. More info can be found at http://www.pragmasys.com/Fortress/WebHelp/html/ps.htm.

A file called ps.exe installs with Trojan.Win32.Killav. More info can be found at http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/trojan.killav.html.

Ps.exe installs with the W32/Sdbot-HP virus. More information can be found at http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32sdbothb.html. If you have this instance of the file, we'd recommend using WinPatrol to remove both ps.exe and mptcloaxs.exe.

Ps.exe installs with the WebRSH remote control program. If you have this instance of the file, you'll also find files called kill.exe, nice.exe and spnh.exe on your system. If you intentionally installed this program, leave these in place. If not, we'd recommend removal using WinPatrol.

Because it is a short and common name, there are many more programs that may be using it.
