Spyware Alert – ZSERV.DLL

Zserv.dll installs with the zserv variant of the Transponder adware program that appeared on the scene in Nov/Dec 2004. It installs as a browser helper object. It tracks the URLs that you visit and the data you enter into web based forms. It establishes an SSL (secure socket layer) connection to the controlling server at zsr.zserv.biz. From there it sends your personal information and can also download updates without your knowledge. It also generates popup ads.

As you might guess, we'd recommend removing this program. To do so via WinPatrol, go to your Active tasks and kill zserv.dll, multimpp.dll and vx2.dll. Next, go to your IE Helpers and remove these files there. Alternatively, you can follow the manual removal instructions at http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/Transponder.html.
