Search-Exe Adware – SE.EXE or SE.DLL

Because se.exe is a very short and common name, there may be many different programs using a file by that name.

Most commonly, se.exe is a search page hijacker that redirects search results to it's controlling server at Search-exe.com. If you have this instance of this file, you'll also find a browser helper object called se.dll running on your system. If you don't have se.dll on your system, chances are that se.exe belongs to another program.

Once you've determined that you do have the Search-exe adware program, we'd recommend using WinPatrol to remove it. We'd recommend removing se.exe, se.dll, bm.dat and app.dat. First, kill these files in your "Active Task List" then disable them in your "Startup Programs".
