Rapid Restore Utility – IBMPRC.EXE
Ibmprc.exe and Xicon.exe will appear in c:\ibmtools\utils\. These file are part of IBMs Rescue and Recovery with Rapid Restore utility. Originally developed by Xpoint Technologies, the Rapid Restore utility is available on IBM Thinkpad notebook computers and Netvista desktops. If your system crashes due to software or operating system corruption, hacking or intrusion, or user error, Rapid Restore can return it to it's fully functional state.
As with Windows System Restore, this utility has to be running to map restore points. So if you use this program, you'll want to leave this file in place. More information can be found at http://www.pc.ibm.com/ww/alliances/xpoint/products.html.
Much less commonly, ibmprc.exe may be a part of GNU-based PRC development tools used to create applications for the PalmOS operating systems used on Palm PDAs.
