Microsoft IDW Logging – IDWLOG.EXE

Idwlog.exe is Microsoft's "IDW Logging 2 tool". This file appeared in Windows XP Home and Pro sp1 and sp2. This file reports the current internal build (version) number. The file is not required and has been known to slow traffic over network connections or slow the log-in/authentication process.
