Creative Technologies – CTHELPER.EXE

Cthelper.exe is a file that is now included with Creative Labs SoundBlaster Audigy and Audigy2 cards (along with ADGJDet.exe and UpdReg.exe). It may come preinstalled on some Compaq systems with Soundblaster Live cards. You may also see a file called cthelper.bak, a backup copy of this file.

This program takes about 4 meg of ram on your hard drive. Some report that the program "goes nuts" and allocates 100% of the available system resources to itself. If you experience this problem, you may want to try removing the file from your Startup Programs using WinPatrol.
