P2P File Sharing – EMULE.EXE

EMULE.EXE is the executable for a P2P file sharing network based on EDonkey2000. EDonkey is a point to point or person to person file sharing network for Windows, Mac and Linux. It is available in 12 countries and 12 languages. While any type of file can be shared across this network, there seems to be a preference among users for video files.

As of this writing, we don't have any specific information about installation of spyware, adware or parasites. But most P2P file sharing services do install these programs. For that reason, we would generally recommend removing this file.
