Kaspersky Antivirus – FIDBOX.DAT and FIDBOX.IDX

Fidbox.dat installs with Kaspersky Antivirus and Kaspersky Internet Security. These programs have two technologies for storing information about checked objects: iSwift and iChecker . ISwift uses database files called "fidbox.dat" and "fidbox.idx" stored in Windows folder. iSwift is more powerful (faster) but works only on drives with NTFS file system.

IChecker uses a file called "sfdb.dat" stored in a subfolder of your documents and settings folder.

You'll find more information and support at http://usa.kaspersky.com/services/technical-support.php. If using WinPatrol 10.x or later, you may see these in your Hidden Files list. That's normal.
