McAfee HackerWatch – HWAPI.EXE

Hwapi.exe will appear in your c:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\HackerWatch folder. It installs the HackerWatch service which is part of the McAfee Internet Security Suite. If McAfee blocks a hack-attack, it offers you the option of reporting the incident to HackerWatch.org. More information can be found at http://www.mcafee.com and at http://www.hackerwatch.org/.

Some users report that this file is a drain on system resources. If that becomes a problem, consider stopping the service. Maximize WinPatrol, go to your Services tab. Click hawapi.exe and change the setting from automatic or manual to "disabled".
