Machine Debug Manager - MDM.EXE
MDM.EXE is the executable for Microsoft's Machine Debug Manager. It is used by many of Microsoft's Development tools. You don't need to have this file in your startup progarms. It will be launched by your Development tool. Once launched, it will remain in memory even after you've exited your development tool. You can reboot to get rid of it or you can use WinPatrol to quit the task in your list of active tasks.
Unfortunately, this file can be overwritten by the Troj/Lydra-A virus. If you have this virus, files called "internat.exe" and "msoffice.exe" will also appear on your system. If these files are found on your system, we'd recommend removing them using WinPatrol. First kill them under Active Tasks then remove them from your Startup Programs. If using WinPatrol 8.x or later, you have the option of right clicking each file then selecting "Delete file on Reboot". Additional background information on this virus can be found at http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/trojlydraa.html.
