MSN Toolbar – MSNTB.DLL

Msnappau.exe, msntb.dll and stmain.dll install with the MSN Search Toolbar. This toolbar includes a MSN searchbox, a popup blocker, and a quick launch for MSN Hotmail or MSN Messenger. More info can be found at http://toolbar.msn.com/.

Manappau.exe is the MSN Application Automatic Updater. You'll probably find this in a strange path such as C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\Updater\01.02.0000.2693\en-gb\msnappau.exe. The version number may vary. If you don't want the MSN toolbar to automatically check for updates, this file can be removed.

Msntb.dll and stmain.dll are the MSN Toolbar browser helper objects responsible for integrating the toolbar and popup blocker into Microsoft Internet Explorer. You'll find this one at C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\MSN Toolbar\01.02.0000.2693\en-us\msntb.dll -and- C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\ST\01.02.0000.2693\en-xu\stmain.dll. Again, the version number may vary. These files should be left in place if you want to use the toolbar and have your popups blocked.
