Office Diagnostics Service – ODSERV.EXE

Odserv.exe is the Microsoft Office Diagnostics Service. It installs with Office XP 2002 and Office 2003. You'll generally find this file in your c:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE12\ folder. If office crashes frequently, this service will run diagnostics on your memory, and hard drive. It will check for office updates and will run a compatibility check. It should not need to be running all the time.
