Windows File Protection – FILELIST.XML

Filelist.xml installs as part of your Windows operating system and is necessary for system file protection. This file protection makes sure that required system files aren't accidently deleted. The filelist.xml file lists the files and folders that are to be protected. Some people who want to tinker with protected system files will edit filelist.xml to exclude the files they want to modify. This is not recommended unless you're a very advanced user.
