Java Quick Start – JQS.EXE

Jqs.exe is the Java Quick Starter. It installs with version 6.x or later of the Java Runtime Environment by Sun Microsystems. It promises to improve the initial startup time of Java applets and applications. JQS targets the Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems running on x86 (IA-32) or compatible hardware. It is enabled by default in the above environment and is turned off on Vista because Vista offers its own preloading mechanisms.
