Multiple Programs – SOFTWAREUPDATE.EXE

Softwareupdate.exe is a generic name used by many programs designed to download and install updates to software you have installed on your system.

If you have a file called softwareupdate.exe in your c:\Program Files\Apple Software Update\ folder, this file processes updates for Apple's popular iTunes and Quicktime programs. More information can be found at http://www.apple.com/softwareupdate/ and at http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/. The file installs by default with iTunes version 7 or later and will be set to check for updates weekly. This setting can be changed to daily, monthly, or never.
