AutoCAD Loader – ACSTART17.EXE

Acstart17.exe installs with the popular AudoCAD program. You'll probably find it in you c:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\ folder. By default, it runs on system startup. The purpose of the program is to launch AutoCAD more quickly than normal. Here's how it works. When you boot up your system, this file preloads part of AutoCAD into memory. So when you launch the full program, it comes up much faster.

If you use AutoCAD frequently, this may be a nice convenience. If not, it's probably just getting in your way. We found a few users reporting that this utility made AutoCAD freeze on start up. If this is happening to you, you may want to remove this file using WinPatrol.
